The short is a glimpse into the bigger world of Circadia, of which I've been developing as a feature. In 2021, Earth suffered from an event scientists later called a Global Seismic Phenomenon. Survivors called it The Day Time Stopped. Catastrophic, synchronized earthquakes shook our planet so violently they not only leveled most cities, but also drastically altered Earth's rotation - slowing it down until it became tidally-locked with the sun.
Tidal-locking is when an orbiting body always has the same side facing the object it's orbiting - like our moon to us.
On Earth, the sun came to a full stop in the sky. Those who survived the earthquakes had to dig out from the rubble to face an unfathomable new horror: a world without time.
